De Verordening inzake ontbossingsvrije producten (EUDR) bepaalt dat alleen goederen en producten op de markt mogen worden gebracht die geen ontbossing of aantasting van bossen veroorzaken. Daarnaast moet de productie legaal zijn. Producten afkomstig uit gebieden die na 30 december 2020 zijn ontbost, mogen niet op de EU-markt worden gebracht of geëxporteerd.
Albert Heijn verwacht van haar leveranciers dat ze aan de EUDR voldoen, als er sprake is van producten of ingrediënten die binnen de scope van de EUDR vallen. Dit zijn: runderen, oliepalm, soja, cacao, koffie, rubber en hout. Het geldt ook voor een aantal daarvan afgeleide producten zoals chocolade.

The Regulation on Deforestation-free Products (EUDR) stipulates that only goods and products that do not contribute to deforestation or forest degradation may be placed on the market. Additionally, production must comply with legal requirements. Products sourced from deforested areas after December 30, 2020, cannot be placed on the EU market or exported.
Albert Heijn expects its suppliers to comply with the EUDR if their products or ingredients fall within its scope. This includes cattle, palm oil, soy, cocoa, coffee, rubber, and wood, as well as certain derived products such as chocolate.
